Addis Ababa, I have gotten to experience this beautiful, special city for a few months now. I feel lucky to still have over 2 years to discover more. Every day I enjoy the gorgeous view of my home and the warm sun or the fresh rain. My job got off to a great start, getting to attend a sports event for high school students. Their enthusiasm showed me the importance of the job we get to do. I got to discover my future workplace at the TVET Institute, ready and full of energy to start implementing Sport for Development Methods. Unfortunately, the world had something else in store for us and the lockdown started here as well. My balcony has become my home office. I got to make new friendships with inspiring people and to beat the Pandemic in our own little way. I have monkeys running around in my surroundings, entertaining me. All together, I feel so privileged and happy to be here. Yes, we are all going through a tough time right now and I am fully aware of the different dynamics not just among countries but also within countries. I do not know what is in store and how it will further develop here in Ethiopia, but I do know that the people here and all over the world are incredibly strong and that we will all get through this time and learn from it.

Its difficult to even put into words how crazy the past months and weeks have been. Going from being offered my new job all the way in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to my 7-week preparation in Germany, to getting my drivers license within 4 weeks, to Skiing trips in Mont Genevre, a quick trip to Stockholm and arranging the big move. Now that I have arrived in Addis and look back, I don’t even know how I managed all of it (let me tell you, it was stressful!) Luckily, I have the best friends and family in the world who supported and helped me with everything. I will miss everyone so much but I will welcome everyone here in my new home 🤗 This new step is scary and exciting and I cannot wait to see what it has in store for me! 💪☺️
